ACADEMICS

  1. Year Planner

A year Planner establishes a structured order in a student's learning journey. It ensures a complete organization and pre-preparedness of the students, the teachers and the parents, enabling the young minds to participate actively in all their academic and non-academic tasks and duties. Our year planner at the Leo Academy of Excellence (CBSE) offers a comprehensive roadmap of the academic session, highlighting essential dates for exams, holidays, school events, and other key milestones.

  2. KG Activities

"Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment".

A child's mind between the time of birth and six years of age is that of an "absorbent mind". During this age children have a tremendous ability to learn and assimilate from the world around them. Therefore, to cultivate the little toddlers' understanding and to enhance their interaction with the world around them, the following days are celebrated by the kindergarten students - Red Day, Fruits Day, Shadow Day, Pink Day, Salad Day, Yellow Day, Flag Day, Shapes Day.

  3. JAM sessions

“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” The Primary Department at the Leo Academy of Excellence (CBSE) combines structured academics with creativity and curiosity to ignite a passion for learning. Students from grades 1 and 2 immerse themselves in the joy of exhibiting their spoken language skills through the JAM sessions held once a month. The parents who attend these sessions also enjoy and appreciate the talent of the students.

  4. Parent Orientation Program (POP) Sessions

At the Leo Academy of Excellence we believe that parents are the most crucial foundation in their child's development and learning journey. Their active participation and wholehearted support fuel our students' motivation to grow leaps and bounds in their curricular and co-curricular activities while keeping track of their holistic development. Parent Orientation Programs are conducted to equip parents with the year planner, informing them about the CBSE curriculum, its framework, and the school's approach to delivering learning instructions and the activities planned for the year. The POP sessions conducted for KG to Grade XII are thoroughly interactive, with parents engrossed in clearing any doubts that they may have. A POP session was recently conducted to familiarise the parents with Chrysalis — a futuristic AI learning tool used in the digital classrooms of the primary classes.

  5. Competitions

With an environment that encourages hands-on learning and exploration, children develop essential life skills in a joyful and engaging manner. The emphasis is on building strong foundations in academics while fostering confidence, self-discipline, and social values. The students participate in competitions such as origami making, pottery designing, balloon designing, kite making, Thirukkural recitation, Hindi/Tamil poem recitation, Nature Walk and Object Talk, etc., to foster their social skills and to encourage self-expression.

  6. International Day

As part of the CBSE curriculum emphasis on global citizenship and cultural awareness, the Leo Academy of Excellence celebrates a designated country's culture, society, and traditions every month. These International Day celebrations allow students to immerse themselves in the chosen nation's unique culture, history, tradition, language, cuisine, literature, geography, etc., through a fun and interactive exhibition held in the school campus.

  7. Field Trips

A vital extension of classroom learning, field trips are carefully planned excursions that balance subject knowledge with exciting hands-on experience. They offer students a chance to apply their theoretical concepts to real-life examples or demonstrations. These field trips are designed to encourage students to observe, interact and reflect, fostering their critical thinking and sparking a passionate interest in diverse subjects. The students of Leo Academy of Excellence (CBSE) enjoy two field trips per term — an educational trip and a fun trip. Through their field trips this year, the students were able to gain first-hand insights into the internal operations of a post office, a police station, an Aavin milk factory, The Hindu office, etc. Educational trips to SpaceX as well to iCAT gave students an opportunity to exhibit their practical experience in rocket science and IT knowledge.

  8. Clubs and Extracurricular Activities (ECA)

At Leo Academy of Excellence, emphasis is placed on the wholesome development of the child — not just intellectually, but also emotionally, socially, physically, and creatively. Following the CBSE's vision of holistic development, our club activities are carefully designed to help students explore their talents, build essential life skills, and develop into confident, compassionate, and well-rounded individuals.
